Possible Causes

Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Broken wire to moisture sensor, Faulty moisture sensor module on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing any covers.

Clean the moisture sensors:

  • Locate the two metal sensor bars inside the drum, usually near the lint filter opening or on the drum front flange.
  • Residue from fabric softener and detergents can insulate the bars. Scrub them thoroughly with a non-abrasive pad and a bit of white vinegar or mild detergent. Rinse with a damp cloth and dry.

Check wiring and connections:

  • Remove the front lower panel or top cover (depending on model) to access the back of the sensor bars.
  • Ensure the spade connectors are firmly attached to the sensor bars and that the wires are not broken or corroded.
  • Trace the harness back to the main control module and re-seat the connector.

Functional test:

  • Run a sensor-dry program with a small load of damp towels. If the dryer still ends prematurely with E03, the moisture sensing circuit on the control board may be defective.

In that case, replace the moisture sensor harness first (low cost), and if the fault persists, the main control module may need replacement by a qualified technician.
