Possible Causes
Defective NTC sensor on exhaust duct, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Damaged sensor wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing panels.
Locate the NTC sensor:
- On many Neff dryers, an NTC sensor is mounted on the exhaust air duct or near the lint filter housing.
- Remove the top or front panel as needed to access the sensor.
Test the sensor:
- Disconnect the sensor plug and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with the expected value from the service manual (commonly 5–20 kΩ at 20°C).
- If the reading is open (OL), shorted (0 Ω), or far out of range, replace the sensor.
Check wiring:
- Inspect the harness from the sensor to the control board for cuts, pinches, or burn marks.
- Re-seat the connector at the control board.
After replacing the NTC or repairing wiring, clear the error by disconnecting power for several minutes, then run a test cycle.
