Possible Causes

Defective door lock solenoid, Broken lock feedback switch, Wiring fault between lock and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power.

Door lock inspection:

  • Remove the front panel trim to access the door lock assembly.
  • Check that the lock mechanism is not physically broken or loose.
  • Inspect the wiring connector for burning or loose pins.

Electrical tests:

  • Measure the resistance of the lock coil; compare with service data. An open coil indicates a failed lock.
  • Check continuity of the lock feedback switch when the lock is engaged.

Replace the door lock assembly if the coil or feedback switch is faulty. If the lock tests good but E16 persists, the control board output may be defective and require replacement.
