Possible Causes
Heater element shorted to chassis, Damaged mains cable, Moisture in electrical components, Faulty mains filter or suppression capacitor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the breaker and unplug the dryer before any inspection. Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker without finding the cause.
- Inspect mains cable: Check the power cord for cuts, burns, or crushed sections. Replace if damaged.
- Check heater assembly: Remove the rear panel and inspect the heater for signs of arcing or contact with the metal cabinet.
- Dry moisture: If the dryer has been exposed to leaks or high humidity, allow it to dry thoroughly for 24 hours in a warm, dry room.
- Professional testing: Use an insulation tester to check for earth leakage on the heater and motor circuits. Replace any components with low insulation resistance.
