Possible Causes
Defective door interlock switch, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Damaged door wiring harness at hinge area, Faulty main control PCB door input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the New World dryer from the mains before any work. Do not bypass the door lock for testing while powered.
- Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure the latch hook fully engages the door catch. Look for cracked or loose plastic on the door hook.
- Inspect door interlock: With power disconnected, remove the front panel screws around the door area and gently pull back the front trim to access the door interlock switch. Check for burn marks, loose terminals, or broken plastic.
- Test continuity: Using a multimeter, test the door interlock switch. With the door closed (or latch manually engaged), the switch contacts should show continuity. Replace the interlock if open-circuit.
- Check wiring: Inspect the wiring harness from the door interlock to the main control PCB for pinched, broken, or burnt wires, especially near the hinge area. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Reset and test: Reassemble, plug the dryer back in, and try starting a cycle. If E01 persists with a known-good interlock and wiring, the main control PCB may be faulty and should be tested or replaced by a qualified technician.
