Possible Causes
Open heating element, Tripped or failed high-limit thermostat, Faulty NTC temperature sensor on heater housing, Burnt heater wiring or connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and allow it to cool completely before accessing the heater assembly.
- Access heater assembly: On most New World vented and condenser dryers, remove the rear panel to access the heater housing. For some models, access is from the front lower panel.
- Visual inspection: Check the heater element for obvious breaks, hot spots, or burnt areas. Inspect wiring and connectors for discoloration or melting.
- Test heater element: Disconnect the heater terminals and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical element will show low resistance (e.g., 20–40 Ω). Infinite resistance indicates an open element that must be replaced.
- Check thermostats and NTC: Locate the high-limit thermostat and any cycling thermostats on the heater housing. Test for continuity at room temperature; an open thermostat indicates failure. For NTC sensors, measure resistance and compare with service data; replace if out of spec.
- Reassemble and test: Replace any failed components, ensure all wiring is secure, reassemble the rear panel, and test the dryer. If E03 persists with a good heater circuit, suspect the main control PCB heater relay.
