Possible Causes
Dirty or coated drum moisture sensor bars, Broken moisture sensor wiring harness, Faulty moisture sensor module (if separate), Defective main control PCB moisture sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from the mains before cleaning or servicing.
- Clean sensor bars: Locate the metal moisture sensor bars inside the drum, usually near the lint filter opening. Clean them thoroughly with a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth to remove fabric softener and detergent residue.
- Check for damage: Inspect the bars for cracks, heavy corrosion, or looseness. Tighten mounting screws if loose.
- Inspect wiring: Access the area behind the sensor bars (often via the front lower panel). Check the wiring harness for breaks or loose connectors leading to the control PCB or sensor module.
- Test continuity: With the dryer unplugged, use a multimeter to verify continuity from each bar to the connector at the PCB. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Module/PCB check: If the bars and wiring are good, the moisture sensor module (if fitted) or the main control PCB may be defective and require replacement.
