How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing any panels or touching internal parts.
- Check drum rotation: With the door open and power off, try turning the drum by hand. If it spins freely with no resistance, the belt may be broken. If very stiff, suspect rollers or bearings.
- Inspect belt: Remove the top and rear (or front) panels to access the drum. Look for a broken, frayed, or off-track belt. Replace with a New World-compatible drum drive belt if damaged.
- Examine idler pulley: Check the belt tensioner/idler pulley for smooth rotation. If noisy, seized, or wobbling, replace the idler pulley assembly.
- Check drum rollers/bearings: Inspect rear drum support rollers or bearing pads for flat spots, wear, or seizure. Replace worn components and lubricate only where specified by the manufacturer.
- Re-tension and test: Refit the belt correctly around the motor pulley and idler. Ensure proper tension, reassemble the cabinet, and test the dryer.
