Possible Causes
Failed blower fan motor, Obstructed fan impeller, Broken fan blades, Faulty fan relay on main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the fan assembly.
- Access fan housing: Remove the rear panel or lower front panel (depending on model) to reach the blower housing.
- Inspect fan wheel: Check for lint build-up, foreign objects, or broken blades on the fan impeller. Clean and remove obstructions.
- Test fan motor: Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely. If stiff or seized, the motor may be faulty. Test the motor windings with a multimeter for continuity.
- Check wiring and relay: Inspect the wiring from the fan motor to the control PCB. Look for burnt connectors. If the motor is good but not receiving power, the fan relay on the PCB may be defective.
- Replace components: Replace the fan motor or blower assembly if defective. If relay failure is confirmed, replace the main control PCB.
