Safety first: Disconnect power before removing ducts or panels.

Step-by-step checks:

• Clean lint filter: Remove and clean the lint filter before every load. Wash with warm soapy water if coated with fabric softener residue.
• Inspect exhaust hose: Pull the dryer away from the wall and disconnect the exhaust hose. Clean out lint and check for crushed or kinked sections. Replace with a smooth-walled duct if possible.
• Check wall vent: Go outside and inspect the wall vent flap. Remove lint and ensure the flap opens fully during operation.
• Internal cleaning: Remove the rear panel and clean lint from the blower housing and internal ducts using a vacuum and brush.
• Blower fan check: Ensure the blower wheel is firmly attached to the motor shaft and not cracked. Replace if loose or damaged.

Tip: After cleaning, run a timed high-heat cycle with a normal load to verify drying time improves.
