Step-by-step checks:

• Isolate noise: Run the dryer briefly (before unplugging) to identify if the noise occurs only when the drum turns.
• Access drum supports: Remove the top and front panels to expose the drum edges and support components.
• Inspect rollers: Spin each roller by hand. Replace any that squeal, wobble, or have flat spots.
• Check rear bearing: On models with a rear ball-and-socket bearing, inspect for wear and apply high-temperature lubricant or replace the bearing kit if worn.
• Examine front glides/felt: Inspect the front drum glides and felt seal for heavy wear or missing sections. Replace as a set if damaged.
