Possible Causes

Open heating element, Tripped thermal cut-out (TCO) or high-limit thermostat, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Burnt wiring on heater assembly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Heating components can remain hot after use; allow cooling before touching.

Step-by-step checks:

  • Access heater assembly: On many Vedette vented dryers, the heater is located at the rear behind a metal cover. Remove the rear panel and heater cover to expose the element and thermostats.
  • Visual inspection: Look for broken coils on the heating element, burnt connectors, or discoloration around thermostats.
  • Test heating element: Disconnect the element terminals and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical element will show low resistance (e.g., 20–40 Ω). Infinite resistance indicates an open element that must be replaced.
  • Check thermostats and TCO: Test the high-limit thermostat and thermal cut-out for continuity. If open at room temperature, replace them. Always address airflow issues (lint blockage) that may have caused overheating.
  • Inspect NTC sensor: If fitted on the heater duct, measure its resistance and compare with Vedette specifications (usually several kΩ at room temperature). Replace if out of range.
  • Clean airflow path: Clean lint filter, exhaust duct, and internal air channels to prevent recurrence.

Note: If all heater components test good, the fault may be on the main control board or relay; professional diagnosis is recommended.
