Possible Causes
Clogged lint filter, Blocked exhaust duct or wall vent, Failed or stuck blower fan, Faulty exhaust NTC sensor or high-limit thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Overheating can cause burns; wait until the dryer cools completely.
Step-by-step checks:
- Clean user-accessible filters: Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter. If your Vedette dryer has an additional condenser or secondary filter, rinse and dry it as per the user manual.
- Inspect exhaust duct: Disconnect the exhaust hose from the back of the dryer. Check for lint buildup, crushed hose, or obstructions at the wall vent. Clean or replace the hose if heavily clogged.
- Check blower fan: Remove the rear or side panel to access the blower housing. Ensure the fan wheel is firmly attached to the motor shaft and free of lint clumps. Clean the housing and fan blades.
- Verify thermostats and NTC: Test the exhaust thermostat and NTC sensor for correct resistance/continuity. Replace any component that is open or out of specification.
- Reset thermal devices: Some Vedette models use manual-reset thermostats. If present, press the small red reset button on the thermostat after the unit has cooled.
Important: Persistent E04 after cleaning and basic checks suggests a control board or sensor calibration issue; contact a qualified technician.
