Possible Causes

Open or shorted NTC sensor on heater duct, Loose or corroded NTC connector, Damaged wiring harness between NTC and control board, Faulty main control board input circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing internal components.

Step-by-step checks:

  • Locate NTC sensor: On Vedette dryers, the NTC is typically mounted on the heater housing or exhaust duct, secured with a clip or screw and connected by two wires.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the NTC connector for corrosion, loose pins, or heat damage. Reseat the connector firmly.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the NTC and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare with Vedette specifications (commonly 5–20 kΩ at 20–25°C). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a faulty sensor.
  • Check harness continuity: If the NTC tests good, check continuity from the NTC connector to the control board connector using a multimeter. Repair or replace any damaged wires.
  • Replace NTC: If defective, install a compatible Vedette NTC sensor, ensuring good thermal contact with the duct.

Note: If wiring and NTC are correct but E05 persists, the main control board may be defective and should be evaluated by a professional.
