Moisture Sensor Circuit Fault
Dryer displays E12, cycle may start but stops unexpectedly, especially on sensor-dry programs

Possible Causes
Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Broken wire to moisture sensor, Faulty moisture sensor module, Control board sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains before accessing internal wiring.
Step-by-step checks:
- Clean sensor bars: Inside the drum, locate the two metal strips (moisture sensors) usually near the lint filter opening. Clean them thoroughly with a soft cloth and a bit of white vinegar or mild detergent to remove fabric softener residue.
- Inspect connections: From behind the front panel, trace the wires from the sensor bars to the harness. Ensure connectors are secure and wires are not broken.
- Continuity test: With the dryer unplugged, test continuity from each sensor bar to the connector on the harness. Repair any open circuits.
- Test on timed cycle: Reassemble and run a timed (non-sensor) cycle. If the dryer works normally on timed but E12 appears on sensor cycles, the moisture sensor or control board sensor circuit may be faulty.
- Replace sensor: If wiring is intact and cleaning does not help, replace the moisture sensor assembly or module.
Note: Control board sensor input failures require board replacement by a professional.
