Zanussi dryer will not start or stops and shows E30 on the display.

Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from the mains before removing the top or front panel. Do not operate the dryer with the door lock bypassed.

• 1. Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure there is no laundry trapped between the door and seal. The door should latch with a solid click.
• 2. Inspect the door catch: Examine the plastic door hook on the door and the latch on the cabinet. If the hook is cracked, bent, or loose, it may not engage the interlock properly and should be replaced.
• 3. Clean the latch area: Remove lint and debris from around the door latch and interlock opening. Build-up can prevent full engagement.
• 4. Access the door interlock: Remove the top panel (usually two screws at the back) and slightly pull the front panel forward to access the door lock assembly. Check that it is firmly mounted and that the connector is fully seated.
• 5. Wiring inspection: Look for burnt, loose, or broken wires going to the door lock. Repair or replace damaged wiring using proper insulated connectors.
• 6. Functional test (advanced): With the dryer unplugged, test the interlock contacts with a multimeter for continuity when the door is closed (you may need to manually actuate the lock). If the switch does not change state, replace the door lock assembly.
• 7. Reassemble and test: Refit panels, plug in, and test a cycle. If E30 remains, the main control board may not be detecting the lock correctly and may require professional diagnosis.
