Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Heating components can remain hot after use; allow time to cool.

• 1. Clean filters and condenser: Blocked airflow can trigger heating errors. Clean the lint filter, secondary filters, and removable condenser (if fitted) thoroughly.
• 2. Check rear and side vents: Ensure that air inlets and outlets are not blocked by dust or pushed against a wall.
• 3. Access heater assembly (vented/condenser): Remove the rear panel to locate the heater housing. Inspect wiring and connectors for burns or loose contacts.
• 4. Test heating element: With a multimeter, check continuity across the heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
• 5. Check thermal cut-outs: Many Zanussi dryers have one or more thermostats/thermal fuses on the heater housing. Test for continuity; a blown thermal fuse must be replaced and the cause of overheating investigated.
• 6. Heat pump models: For heat pump dryers, inspect the evaporator and condenser coils for heavy lint build-up and clean carefully. If the compressor does not run or E60 persists, the sealed system or heat pump module may be faulty.
• 7. Professional diagnosis: Replacement of heating elements, NTC sensors, or heat pump modules should be done by a qualified technician if you are not experienced.
