Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Loose NTC connector, Damaged NTC wiring, Faulty control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from the mains before testing sensors.
- 1. Locate the NTC: The NTC temperature sensor is usually mounted on the heater housing or in the air duct near the drum outlet.
- 2. Check connection: Ensure the NTC plug is firmly connected and free from corrosion or moisture.
- 3. Test resistance: Remove the NTC and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare with Zanussi specifications (commonly in the tens of kΩ). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a faulty sensor.
- 4. Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires back to the control board, checking for damage or pinched sections. Repair as needed.
- 5. Replace NTC if faulty: Install a genuine Zanussi NTC sensor and ensure it is properly seated in its holder or bracket.
- 6. If E70 persists: The control board's sensor input may be defective and require replacement by a technician.
