Possible Causes
Water leak into base tray, Blocked condensate channels, Cracked sump or hose, Faulty anti-flood float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Water inside the base can contact live parts. Tilt carefully to avoid spills.
- 1. Check for visible leaks: Look around and under the dryer for water. Mop up any standing water on the floor.
- 2. Drain base tray: Carefully tilt the dryer slightly backward or sideways (with help) to allow water in the base tray to drain out onto towels. This may temporarily clear EF0.
- 3. Access base area: Remove the side or rear panel (model dependent) to inspect the base tray. Locate the anti-flood float and micro-switch; ensure the float moves freely and is not stuck by debris.
- 4. Inspect hoses and sump: Check the condensate sump, pump housing, and hoses for cracks, loose clamps, or blockages causing overflow. Replace damaged parts and reseat hoses securely.
- 5. Clean condensate channels: Lint can block the channels that guide water to the sump. Clean these passages thoroughly.
- 6. Test float switch: With the dryer unplugged, manually lift the float and listen for the switch click. Test continuity with a multimeter if available. Replace the float switch if faulty.
- 7. Reassemble and monitor: After repairs, run a short cycle and check for new leaks. If EF0 returns without visible leaks, seek professional diagnosis.
