Zanussi dryer drum light works but the drum does not rotate and there is a humming noise.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before attempting any repair. Do not repeatedly try to start a humming motor as it can overheat.

• 1. Check drum for obstruction: Open the door and rotate the drum by hand. If it is stiff or jammed, look for trapped items between the drum and cabinet.
• 2. Motor capacitor (condenser models): Access the motor area from the rear or side. Locate the start/run capacitor (cylindrical component). If it is bulging or leaking, replace it with the same µF rating.
• 3. Belt and pulley: Ensure the belt is correctly routed and not overly tight. Check that the idler pulley moves freely.
• 4. Motor test (advanced): If the capacitor is good, the motor windings may be weak or open. Test with a multimeter and replace the motor if defective.
