Zanussi dryer emits a burning smell during operation.

Safety first: Immediately stop the dryer, unplug it, and do not use it again until the cause is found. Fire risk is present.

• 1. Inspect lint filters and condenser: Remove and thoroughly clean all filters and the condenser (if fitted). Heavy lint build-up can scorch and smell.
• 2. Check drum and seal: Look inside the drum for items stuck in the door seal or drum holes (e.g., plastic, rubber). Remove any foreign objects.
• 3. Access heater area: Remove the rear panel and inspect the heater housing for lint accumulation or melted plastic. Vacuum lint carefully.
• 4. Inspect wiring: Look for burnt or melted wires, especially near the heater and motor. Any damaged wiring must be replaced and the cause investigated.
• 5. Test run under supervision: After cleaning and inspection, run a short cycle while monitoring closely. If the burning smell persists, switch off immediately and contact a technician.
