Possible Causes

Clogged lint filter, Blocked condenser unit, Restricted airflow in ducts, Faulty moisture sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off and unplug the dryer before cleaning internal components.

  • 1. Clean lint filter: Remove the main lint filter and any secondary filters. Clean off all lint with your fingers or a soft brush, then rinse under warm water and dry completely.
  • 2. Clean condenser (if fitted): For condenser and heat pump models, remove the condenser unit from the bottom front compartment. Rinse it thoroughly from back to front until water runs clear. Allow to drain before refitting.
  • 3. Check airflow: Ensure that the air intake and exhaust grilles are not blocked by dust or pushed against a wall. For vented models, inspect and clean the vent hose and external vent flap.
  • 4. Avoid overloading: Dry smaller loads and separate heavy items (towels, jeans) from light fabrics. Overloading reduces airflow and sensor accuracy.
  • 5. Clean moisture sensors: Wipe the metal sensor bars inside the drum with a cloth and white vinegar to remove softener residue that can prevent accurate moisture detection.
  • 6. Test timed cycle: Run a timed (non-auto) cycle. If drying improves, the issue may be with the moisture sensor system, which may need professional testing or replacement.
