Display shows P1 and the smoker will not start the cooking cycle; timer and temperature settings may be locked.

Safety: This is a control lock condition, not an electrical fault. It is safe to troubleshoot with the unit plugged in, but do not attempt internal repairs while powered.

Unlock procedure (typical):

• Press and hold the Lock or Timer button (varies by model) for 3–5 seconds until the P1 icon or lock symbol disappears.
• If your East Oak model uses a combination, press and hold Temp + Time simultaneously for 3–5 seconds.

If P1 will not clear:

• Unplug the smoker for 5 minutes to reset the control, then try the unlock sequence again.
• If certain buttons do not respond or feel stuck, the touch control panel assembly may be defective and should be replaced.
