How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Shock and fire hazard: Do not use the charger with a damaged cable.
- Step 1 – Stop using immediately: Unplug the charger and do not attempt to tape over or repair the cable externally.
- Step 2 – Inspect full length: Examine the entire BougeRV output cable from charger to handle for additional damage.
- Step 3 – Replace cable assembly: Replace the complete BougeRV J1772 output cable assembly. Field splicing is not recommended for EVSE cables.
- Step 4 – Prevent recurrence: Use a cable hook or holster to keep the cable off the ground and away from vehicle tires.
