How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Fire hazard: Stop using the charger if the connector or cable becomes very hot.
- Step 1 – Eliminate extension cords: Connect the BougeRV charger directly to the dedicated outlet; do not use extension cords or adapters.
- Step 2 – Inspect connector: Look for discoloration, melting, or deformation of the J1772 plug. Replace the BougeRV J1772 handle / cable assembly if any damage is found.
- Step 3 – Check cable routing: Ensure the cable is not coiled tightly or covered, which can trap heat.
- Step 4 – Internal inspection: With power off, open the handle (if serviceable) and inspect crimps and terminations for looseness or discoloration.
