Possible Causes
Supply voltage too low or too high, Loose line or neutral connection in input terminal block, Undersized or excessively long supply wiring causing voltage drop, Faulty input voltage sensing circuit on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: Work on line voltage wiring only if you are qualified. Otherwise, contact a licensed electrician.
- Step 1 – Confirm supply rating: Check the BougeRV charger's nameplate for required voltage (e.g., 240 V). Verify that it is connected to the correct type of circuit.
- Step 2 – Measure voltage: With a multimeter and power on, measure voltage at the receptacle or input terminals. Ensure it is within ±10% of the rated voltage. If it is not, the issue is with the building wiring or utility supply.
- Step 3 – Inspect connections (power off): Turn off the breaker. Open the BougeRV charger's input wiring compartment. Tighten all line, neutral (if present), and ground screws on the input terminal block. Look for heat discoloration or melted insulation.
- Step 4 – Check wire size and run length: Confirm that the circuit uses the wire gauge recommended by BougeRV for the charger's current rating and that the run is not excessively long without upsizing the wire.
- Step 5 – Internal board check: If supply voltage is correct and connections are tight but E04 persists, the input voltage sensing circuit on the BougeRV main control board may be defective and require replacement.
