Possible Causes
Drifted or failed Hall-effect current sensor, Corrupted calibration data in EEPROM, Loose sensor connector, Main board analog front-end failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Current measurement is critical for safe operation. Do not bypass or defeat current sensors.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Turn off power for several minutes and restore to clear transient errors.
- Step 2 – Check sensor connections: With power off, open the charger and locate the current sensor (often a ring or block around the output conductors). Ensure its connector is fully seated on the main board.
- Step 3 – Inspect for damage: Look for cracks in the sensor housing or signs of overheating on the conductors passing through it.
- Step 4 – Factory reset / recalibration: If BougeRV provides a service menu or app function for sensor calibration, follow their procedure exactly.
- Step 5 – Replace sensor or board: If recalibration fails or is unavailable, replace the BougeRV output current sensor. If E16 persists, the main control board's measurement circuitry may need replacement.
