How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Shock hazard: Disconnect power immediately if water is present inside the charger.
- Step 1 – Power down and dry: Turn off the breaker and open the charger. Carefully dry visible water with a lint-free cloth and allow the unit to air dry for at least 24 hours.
- Step 2 – Inspect seals: Check the front cover gasket, display window seal, and cable gland for cracks, gaps, or misalignment.
- Step 3 – Replace seals: Replace any damaged BougeRV front cover gasket or cable gland. Ensure all screws are tightened evenly to compress seals.
- Step 4 – Check for corrosion: Inspect the PCB and connectors for corrosion. Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol; severe corrosion may require board replacement.
- Step 5 – Reassess installation: If the charger is exposed to direct rain or spray beyond its rating, consider adding a protective hood or relocating it.
