Possible Causes
Faulty Type 2 cable, Bent or contaminated control pilot (CP) or proximity (PP) pins, Vehicle not accepting charge (onboard charger fault), Damaged CP circuit on Easee main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: A pulsing blue LED usually indicates the charger is ready but waiting for the vehicle to request power.
- 1. Reseat the connectors: Unplug the Type 2 connector from the vehicle and the charger, then firmly reconnect both ends until you hear/feel a positive click.
- 2. Inspect pins: Examine the Type 2 plug and socket for bent, recessed, or corroded pins, especially the small CP and PP pins. Clean light contamination with a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasives.
- 3. Try another cable: If you are using a detachable cable, test with a known-good Type 2 cable. If charging starts with the new cable, replace the original cable.
- 4. Check vehicle settings: Ensure the EV is not in a charge-schedule mode that delays charging. Disable any delayed charging or smart charging features in the vehicle and try again.
- 5. Reboot the charger: Power-cycle the charger at the breaker for 30–60 seconds. After reboot, reconnect the vehicle and observe if the LED changes to green (charging).
- 6. Diagnose CP circuit: If multiple vehicles and cables fail to start charging, the CP circuit on the Easee main control board may be defective. This requires board-level repair or replacement of the front module.
