Possible Causes

RFID reader coil failure in front module, Unsupported RFID card type, Corrupted RFID authorization list in charger memory, Damaged front cover affecting RFID signal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: If RFID fails, you may still be able to start charging via the app if configured.

  • 1. Test with multiple tags: Try at least two different RFID cards/fobs that are known to be registered with the charger.
  • 2. Check registration: In the Easee app or portal, verify that the RFID IDs are correctly added and assigned to users.
  • 3. Present card correctly: Hold the card flat against the indicated RFID area on the front cover for a few seconds. Avoid metal objects between the card and reader.
  • 4. Inspect front cover: Ensure the front cover is not cracked or shielded by metal that could block the RFID signal.
  • 5. Reset authorization list: If the list appears corrupted, clear and re-register RFID cards via the app.
  • 6. Replace front module: If no RFID tags are detected and app control works, the RFID reader in the front module is likely defective and the module should be replaced.
