Possible Causes
Long cable run with excessive voltage drop, Undersized supply conductors, Weak or overloaded utility supply, Loose upstream connections causing voltage sag
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: Undervoltage protection prevents malfunction and overheating during low supply conditions.
- 1. Measure voltage under load: Use a multimeter to measure L–N voltage at the charger while the vehicle is charging at maximum current. Compare to no-load voltage.
- 2. Check conductor size: Verify that the cable size from the distribution board to the charger meets Easee's recommendations for the installed current and distance.
- 3. Inspect upstream connections: Tighten all relevant terminals in the distribution board and any junction boxes feeding the charger.
- 4. Reduce charge current: In the Easee app, lower the maximum current to reduce voltage drop along the cable.
- 5. Upgrade wiring (if needed): If voltage drop remains excessive, have an electrician upgrade the supply cable to a larger cross-section.
