Safety: Immediately stop charging, unplug the vehicle, and turn off the breaker. Do not use the charger until fully inspected.

External check: After cooling, inspect the cable, handle, and enclosure for discoloration, melting, or soot.
Internal inspection (qualified person): With power off, open the charger and look for burned components, melted insulation, or charred PCB areas.
Tighten and repair: Tighten any loose terminals. Replace any visibly damaged components such as the contactor, terminal block, or control board.
Do not ignore odor: Even if the charger appears to work, a persistent burning smell indicates ongoing damage and risk of fire.
Test carefully after repair: Restore power and monitor closely during a short test charge. If any smell returns, shut down and replace the charger or remaining suspect components.
