Possible Causes
Damaged or improperly installed gasket, Cracked enclosure housing, Cable entry not sealed, Incorrect mounting orientation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker immediately. Do not use the charger until it is completely dry and inspected. Water inside can cause shock or fire.
- External inspection: Look for cracks in the plastic housing, missing screws, or gaps around the cover and cable entry.
- Check mounting: Ensure the Emporia charger is mounted vertically and per the installation manual so that water sheds properly.
- Dry the unit (qualified person): With power off, remove the cover and gently dry any visible moisture with lint-free cloths. Allow the unit to air dry for at least 24 hours in a dry environment.
- Replace seals or housing: If gaskets are damaged or the housing is cracked, replace them with Emporia-approved parts. Apply appropriate weatherproofing around cable entries.
- After reassembly: Restore power and monitor for any abnormal behavior. If any fault codes or GFCI trips occur, the control board or other components may have been damaged and require replacement.
