Possible Causes

Charger not in pairing mode, Changed Wi-Fi SSID or password, Router blocking mDNS or required ports, Corrupted pairing data on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No high-voltage work is needed for network pairing.

  • Confirm LED status: Check the charger’s Wi-Fi indicator (if present) to see if it is connected or in pairing mode. Refer to the Emporia manual for LED meanings.
  • Re-run setup: In the Emporia app, remove the charger (if listed) and add it again, following the pairing instructions exactly.
  • Check Wi-Fi changes: If you recently changed your router, SSID, or password, update the charger’s settings via the app or perform a Wi-Fi reset on the charger.
  • Router configuration: Ensure that your router allows local discovery (mDNS) and is not isolating devices on different networks.
  • Factory reset: If pairing still fails, perform a factory reset on the charger as per the manual, then attempt setup again.
  • If the charger never appears despite strong Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi module or firmware on the control board may be faulty and require board replacement.
