Possible Causes
Open or shorted temperature sensor, Loose sensor connector on control board, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Faulty ADC input on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before opening the charger.
- Access internal sensor (qualified person): Remove the front cover according to Emporia instructions. Locate the temperature sensor harness connected to the control board (often a small two-wire connector).
- Check connector seating: Ensure the sensor plug is fully inserted and not corroded or damaged.
- Inspect wiring: Look for pinched or cut sensor wires inside the housing.
- Power cycle: After reseating the connector, restore power and see if E10 clears.
- If E10 persists: The sensor itself or the control board input is likely defective. Replace the temperature sensor harness first if available as a separate part; if not, replace the entire control board assembly.
