Possible Causes
Weak Wi-Fi signal at charger location, Incorrect Wi-Fi credentials, Router blocking Emporia cloud traffic, Faulty Wi-Fi module on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No high-voltage work is required for network issues. Do not open the high-voltage compartment.
- Check Wi-Fi signal strength: Use a phone at the charger location to verify signal. If weak, move the router closer or add a Wi-Fi extender.
- Verify network settings: In the Emporia app, re-run the Wi-Fi setup for the charger. Ensure you are using a 2.4 GHz network if required and that the password is correct.
- Router configuration: Ensure your router is not blocking outbound connections required by Emporia (check firewall, parental controls, or MAC filtering).
- Power cycle: Turn the charger off at the breaker for 1 minute, reboot your router, then restore power and check if E11 clears.
- If Wi-Fi remains unavailable but charging works: The internal Wi-Fi module may have failed. In most Emporia designs this is integrated into the control board; replacement of the board may be required if app connectivity is essential.
