Possible Causes
DC leakage current from vehicle onboard charger, Faulty Type 2 cable causing DC leakage, Defective RDC‑DD sensor module inside charger, Incorrect wiring through the DC sensor core
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: DC leakage can compromise RCD protection. Do not repeatedly reset without investigation.
Steps to try:
- Unplug and retry: Disconnect the vehicle, wait 1–2 minutes, then reconnect and start a new session. If E09 clears and does not return, it may have been a transient event.
- Test with another vehicle: If possible, charge a different EV on the same charger. If E09 only occurs with one vehicle, the issue may be with that vehicle’s onboard charger and should be checked by the vehicle manufacturer.
- Try another cable: Swap the Type 2 cable. If E09 disappears, replace the original cable.
- Technician inspection: If E09 occurs with multiple vehicles and cables, a qualified technician should test the RDC‑DD module, verify correct routing of conductors through the sensor, and replace the RDC‑DD or main board if faulty.
