Possible Causes
Failed mechanical lock actuator in charger socket, Loss of power during unlock sequence, Debris obstructing locking pin, Firmware bug leaving lock engaged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not pull excessively on the cable; this can damage the socket and wiring.
Steps to try:
- Stop charging: Use the vehicle or app to stop the charging session and wait 30–60 seconds for the lock to release.
- Power-cycle: Turn OFF the charger’s breaker for 30 seconds, then ON. Some models will perform an unlock cycle at boot.
- Check vehicle lock state: Some vehicles keep the cable locked when the car is locked. Unlock the car and try again.
- If still stuck: Contact a Hager‑authorised technician. They may need to manually release the lock from inside the charger and replace the locking actuator or socket module.
