Possible Causes
Faulty internal MID energy meter, Broken communication link between meter and main board (e.g., RS‑485 or SPI), Loose meter connector, Firmware mismatch between meter and controller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate mains before accessing the internal meter.
- 1. Check display/app:
- Verify if any energy values are shown in the charger UI or app.
- If all values are missing or zero, suspect meter communication.
- 2. Inspect internal meter:
- Open the housing and locate the internal energy meter module (often a DIN‑style or PCB‑mounted meter).
- Check that its connectors are firmly seated.
- 3. Communication wiring:
- Trace the communication wires (RS‑485 or similar) between the meter and main board.
- Look for damage or loose terminals.
- 4. Power cycle:
- After reseating connectors, power cycle the charger and check if readings return.
- 5. Replace meter if necessary:
- If E15 persists and wiring is intact, replace the internal energy meter module with the Heidelberg‑approved part.
