Possible Causes
Faulty cover microswitch, Misaligned cover not actuating switch, Broken switch wiring, Bypassed or tampered interlock circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: The cover interlock prevents access to live parts. Never bypass it permanently. Isolate mains before adjusting.
- 1. Check cover alignment:
- Ensure the front cover is properly seated and all screws are tightened.
- Look for warped plastic or obstructions preventing full closure.
- 2. Inspect interlock switch:
- Open the housing (with power off) and locate the cover microswitch or reed switch.
- Verify that the actuator or magnet aligns correctly when the cover is closed.
- 3. Test switch continuity:
- With a multimeter, check the switch contacts while manually actuating it.
- If no change in continuity, replace the switch.
- 4. Check wiring:
- Inspect the cable from the switch to the main board for breaks or loose connectors.
- 5. Replace faulty parts:
- Install a new cover interlock switch if defective.
- Never short the interlock terminals as a permanent fix.
