Possible Causes
Faulty LED/HMI board in front panel, Damaged ribbon cable between HMI and main control board, Firmware mismatch between HMI and main board, Moisture ingress into front panel electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing the front cover or HMI panel.
- 1. Power reset: Turn off the charger at the breaker for 2–3 minutes, then restore power. Observe if the display and LEDs initialize normally.
- 2. Check for condensation: Inspect the front panel for signs of moisture or fogging. If present, allow the charger to dry in a warm, ventilated area and improve weather protection if outdoors.
- 3. Inspect HMI connections: With power OFF, remove the front cover and locate the ribbon cable or harness between the HMI board and the main control board. Reseat both ends firmly.
- 4. Look for damage: Check the HMI PCB for corrosion, burn marks, or cracked components. If damaged, the HMI board will need replacement.
- 5. Update firmware (if supported): Using the Land Rover charger app or service tool, check for firmware updates that address HMI communication issues.
- 6. If E10 remains: Replace the HMI/front panel assembly or main control board as recommended by Land Rover service documentation.
