Possible Causes
Unstable control pilot voltage due to poor CP connection, Faulty contactor coil or driver circuit, Vehicle rapidly changing requested current, Loose low-voltage harness between control board and contactor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Rapid switching can damage components. Do not continue to plug/unplug repeatedly.
- 1. Unplug and wait: Disconnect the vehicle and wait 2–3 minutes before retrying to allow electronics to reset.
- 2. Inspect CP and PP pins: Check the Type 2 plug for contamination or damage on the small pilot and proximity pins. Clean gently if needed.
- 3. Check low-voltage harness: With power OFF, open the charger and ensure the contactor coil and feedback wires are firmly connected to the control board.
- 4. Test with another vehicle: If chatter only occurs with one vehicle, the issue may be vehicle-side.
- 5. If chatter continues with multiple vehicles: The contactor or control board driver may be faulty. Have a technician test and replace the contactor or board.
