Possible Causes

Stuck or damaged front panel button, Moisture ingress into keypad area, Faulty LED/UI board, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before removing any front panel components.

Steps:

  • 1. Inspect front panel: Check for physical damage, cracks, or signs of water entry around the buttons and LEDs. Gently press each button to see if it returns freely.
  • 2. Dry out moisture: If condensation or water is suspected, leave the unit powered OFF and allow it to dry for 24 hours in a dry environment. Do not use heat sources.
  • 3. Check ribbon cable (qualified person): With cover removed and power OFF, verify that the ribbon cable from the UI board to the main control board is fully seated and not pinched.
  • 4. UI board replacement: If buttons remain unresponsive or E09 persists after drying and reseating cables, the front user interface/LED board may need replacement with the correct Leviton part.
