Possible Causes

Faulty contactor feedback contacts, Miswired feedback harness, Control board sensing circuit failure, Welded contactor contacts preventing open/close test

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before opening the EVSE. High voltage is present near the contactor.

Steps:

  • 1. Observe startup: Restore power and listen for the EVSE’s self-test clicks. If E11 appears immediately with no clicks, the feedback circuit may be open.
  • 2. Inspect feedback wiring (qualified person): With power OFF, locate the small-gauge wires from the contactor auxiliary contacts to the control board. Ensure they are secure and not damaged.
  • 3. Check contactor operation: Manually operate the contactor (if design allows and with power OFF) to verify auxiliary contacts change state. A multimeter can be used to confirm continuity changes.
  • 4. Replace faulty component: If auxiliary contacts are defective or welded, replace the contactor. If wiring and contactor are good, the control board’s feedback sensing circuit may be faulty and require board replacement.
