Possible Causes
Multiple unresolved ground faults, Persistent overcurrent conditions, Firmware safety lockout, Internal memory flag not clearing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset without addressing underlying faults. Turn OFF power at the breaker before any internal inspection.
Steps:
- 1. Review history: Note any previous error codes (E01, E02, etc.) that occurred before E18. Those root causes must be corrected first.
- 2. Full power reset: Turn the breaker OFF for at least 10 minutes to allow internal capacitors and memory to discharge. Then restore power and check status.
- 3. Factory reset: If supported, perform a factory reset via front panel or app following Leviton instructions.
- 4. Correct underlying issues: Inspect cable, connector, wiring, and breaker sizing as appropriate for the original faults.
- 5. Persistent lockout: If E18 remains after correcting all known issues and performing resets, the control board’s safety logic may be latched or damaged and the board will likely need replacement.
