How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: A missing ground is a serious safety hazard. Do not bypass ground or use adapters to defeat grounding.
- 1. Verify grounded outlet:
- Use a plug-in outlet tester (for 120 V models) to confirm correct wiring and presence of ground.
- If the tester indicates an open ground, have a licensed electrician correct the wiring.
- 2. Check ground connections (hardwired units):
- Turn off the breaker and open the junction box feeding the Megear charger.
- Confirm that the ground conductor is securely connected to the charger’s ground terminal and the box/panel ground.
- 3. Internal ground bond:
- With power off, open the charger housing.
- Verify that the ground wire from the input terminal is firmly attached to the chassis ground point.
- Tighten any loose screws and ensure there is no corrosion.
Do not operate the charger until a proper ground is verified. If E12 persists with a known-good ground, the ground sensing circuit on the main control board may be defective.
