Possible Causes

EV not requesting charge, EV schedule/timer active, loose J1772 connector in vehicle inlet, dirty or damaged J1772 pins

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not open the charger enclosure. All checks below are external only. If you smell burning, see smoke, or the cable jacket is damaged, stop using the unit and contact a qualified technician.

  • Check vehicle settings: Verify your EV is not set to delayed charging or a scheduled charge. Disable any charge timers and try again.
  • Reseat the connector: Unplug the J1772 connector from the vehicle, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in firmly until you hear/feel a solid click.
  • Inspect J1772 plug: Look at the metal pins on the MUSTART J1772 handle for dirt, corrosion, or bent pins. Clean gently with a dry, soft brush. Do not use liquids or abrasives.
  • Try another EV (if available): If E0 remains and the charger never starts with any vehicle, the control board may not be detecting the pilot signal correctly and will need professional service.
