Possible Causes
Loose internal connection at output relay, failing relay contacts causing voltage drop, unstable grid voltage, EV onboard charger rapidly changing load beyond EVSE tolerance
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Do not continue cycling the charger on and off rapidly; this can worsen contact damage.
- Check plug and outlet: Ensure the MUSTART plug is fully inserted into the receptacle and not loose. A loose plug can cause intermittent voltage drops.
- Monitor for flickering: If house lights flicker when charging starts, the supply circuit may be overloaded or unstable. Contact an electrician.
- Try lower current: Reduce the charger’s current setting and see if E11 stops occurring.
- Test with another EV: If E11 only occurs with one vehicle, the EV’s onboard charger may be unstable. If it occurs with multiple EVs, the charger’s internal relay or control board likely needs service.
