Possible Causes
Authentication required but not completed, Schedule or smart charging delay active, Weak CP signal amplitude, Misconfigured maximum current or phase settings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the charger unless necessary; many issues are configuration-related.
- Check app status: In the NewMotion app, see if the charger is waiting for RFID authentication, a scheduled start time, or a smart charging window.
- Try manual start: Present an authorized RFID card (if required) and confirm the LED ring changes to charging color when the vehicle is connected.
- Disable schedules: Temporarily disable any charging schedules or smart charging features and test again.
- Test another vehicle/cable: Connect a different EV and/or cable to rule out vehicle-side issues.
- Installer settings: In the installer portal, verify that the supply type and max current are correctly set and that the charger is not in a derated or disabled mode.
- Hardware check: If all configuration is correct and multiple vehicles fail to start, inspect CP/PP wiring and the Type 2 socket or tethered cable for damage.
