Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation around charger housing, High ambient temperature exceeding spec, Failing internal temperature sensor on main PCB, Overheating power module or contactor due to loose connections

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Components may be hot. Allow the unit to cool before opening.

  • Check installation location: Ensure the NewMotion charger is not installed in direct sunlight or near heat sources. Maintain the manufacturer’s recommended clearance around the unit for airflow.
  • Inspect vents: Clean any dust, cobwebs, or debris from ventilation slots on the housing. Do not block vents with covers or insulation.
  • Check cable glands: Verify that cable glands are tight but not over-tightened to the point of deforming the enclosure and restricting airflow.
  • Internal inspection: After isolating power, open the unit and inspect the power module, contactor, and terminal block for signs of overheating (discoloration, melted insulation).
  • Tighten power connections: Loose terminals can cause localized heating. Retorque all high-current connections to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
  • Sensor verification: Locate the internal NTC temperature sensor on the main PCB or heat sink. If it is detached or damaged, reattach or replace the PCB/module.
  • Test after cooldown: Once cooled and reassembled, restore power and monitor temperature readings via the NewMotion app if available. If E006 recurs quickly, a failing sensor or module is likely.
